GIRLS TENNIS

New Oxford and Delone Catholic take home YAIAA doubles titles

Delone Catholic's Ella Knox had to find a new playing partner this season. Safe to say she found a good one in Bayleigh Stetter.

The Squirettes duo was outstanding throughout the tournament, including in a 6-2, 6-2 final against Paytyn Plank and Kiersten Englebert of Biglerville, making Knox and Stetter the 2023 YAIAA AA girls tennis doubles champions.

Anya Rosenbach and Allison Horick entered the 2023 tourney as the AAA defending champs. The New Oxford tandem is still defending.

After not losing a game through their early matches, Rosenbach and Horick took that momentum through the title match against Colonials teammates Alex Wolf and Joslyn Loss.

A 6-0, 6-3 final helped Rosenbach and Horick win a second straight YAIAA AAA girls tennis doubles championship.

Rosenbach & Plank Win YAIAA Singles Titles

New Oxford's Anya Rosenbach had been to the YAIAA girls tennis finals before. In fact, the Colonials stalwart is the defending league champ.

Returning as the top seed, Rosenbach was more than ready, winning the 2023 YAIAA AAA singles title, again, 6-4, 6-2 past Red Lion's Lexie Lakatosh.

The top seed in AA, Paytyn Plank of Biglerville was also impressive in her title run.

Plank won the finals past Delone Catholic's Ella Knox, 6-0, 6-3 to capture the 2023 YAIAA AA singles crown.
